I’ve done a couple of courses with Claire and she is without a doubt my favourite facilitator (sorry to all the other facilitators, you’re awesome too, but Claire is my favourite). Claire has a style that suits engagement so well. She will let a silence sit for just the right amount of time and ask incredibly poignant questions. The courses flow in an organic participatory way but Claire always steers them towards productive and insightful directions.

A couple of weeks after a recent course, I found myself sitting at a traffic light and still developing new insights. Very few structured programs have engaged me in a way that sticks and has me reflecting for weeks to come. The right facilitator is essential in making this happen.

It’s difficult to place a value on events that help you grow so I’ll end this by saying that Claire is priceless. I hope to work with her again.

Testimonials

I have been working with Claire McKendrick for over 18 months in the dual capacity as a course participant and program lead in our premium leadership program titled Leading with Impact (LWI). The program is co-facilitated by Claire and Brad Hastings under the auspice of the UNSW Australian Graduate School of Managements’ Certificate in Executive Management and Development running over 9 months.

During this time I have enjoyed being able to work with Claire both as a learner in our first program cohort and in a business partner and coach in the second program cohort.

Claire has demonstrated a solid understanding of the complexities and intricacies of the NSW Health landscape and this is evidenced in her strong facilitator skills and ability to link learning material to NSW Health realities.

In the past 12 months I have particularly enjoyed the opportunity to work with Claire in a partnership where we have a common goal of providing the best learning solution through the LWI program. Between the first and second cohort of LWI Claire and Brad led a co-design workshop with members of our Executive and a couple of participants from the first cohort including me. Claire listened to our needs and was very flexible and happy to offer alternative solutions for the design of the second program cohort. As a result our program has been strengthened for the second cohort and feedback is very positive from participants.

We are in early stages of planning Cohort 3 and I am excited about this!
— Sally Laugesen Associate Director, Organisational Development, People and Culture
Claire worked with us on our facilitation development program.

Although we had already designed an agenda with exercises, her insights and expertise in facilitation and holding space prompted us to rethink our agenda and incorporate her work.

I’m an experienced facilitator, but I learned so much by working with Claire.

I’d eagerly work with her again, especially to design a workshop and train others in holding space.
— Gene Johnson, PhD, Senior Program Manager, Leadership Team / Health Education and Training Institute

She has a deep understanding of individual and system transformation and holds the art and science of guiding people and teams through a process that leads to something special.

Working with Claire is a pleasure and a never ending learning process as she models the wisdom she brings to her work.

Claire skilfully challenges the teams she works with and for to be their best.
— Robert Mulhall, CEO, Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health
When our organisation was looking for a skilled facilitator to assist us to surface our key strengths and challenges in our culture, Claire came highly
recommended.

Throughout the course of her work with us, it was clear why – Claire has a deep knowledge of the way systems live and work, and a dynamic suite of tools and skills to apply to group thinking.

Claire has a unique ability to work in ways that promote organisational responsibility and agency, breaking the dependence model of so many consultants, and supporting organisations to see their key strengths and challenges, objectively and clearly.
